Comfortable and Relaxing Paediatric Clinic

Inspired by the idea of creating a soothing atmosphere where visiting patients and families can feel at home, Vstudio Limited has designed the Primecare Paediatric Wellness Centre. This unique clinic combines fresh and modern aesthetics with a focus on comfort and relaxation.

The design of the clinic prioritizes openness and natural light. Glass and wooden slats are used throughout the space to bring ample light into the clinic, creating an airy and inviting environment. The extensive use of soft hues and natural textures further enhances the sense of calmness.

One of the standout features of the Primecare Paediatric Wellness Centre is the vertical orientation of the wooden slat walls. This design choice adds height to the space and enhances the overall spaciousness. Upon entering, visitors are greeted with a commodious reception area, unaware that the consultation room is discreetly concealed behind a door that seamlessly blends into the stylish walls.

In addition to the welcoming reception area, the clinic also features a separate room for newborn babies. Located adjacent to the reading area, newborns have the privilege of relaxing beside the windows, enjoying the natural light and soothing views.

The realization of this design involved the use of plastic laminate and Corian artificial stone for durability and easy maintenance. Vinyl flooring was chosen to prevent scratches and ensure a child-friendly environment.

The Primecare Paediatric Wellness Centre project started in November 2017 in Hong Kong and was completed in January 2018. Throughout the design process, the Vstudio Limited team faced challenges such as the need for a larger waiting area and a separate room for newborns. To overcome these challenges, the reception counter was relocated towards the entrance, creating space for the newborn area at the back of the reception. Glass partitions were used to allow natural light to flow into the reception area, creating a bright and welcoming space.

The Primecare Paediatric Wellness Centre is a testament to the power of design in creating a comfortable and relaxing environment for young patients and their families. With its emphasis on openness, natural light, and soothing aesthetics, this clinic sets a new standard for paediatric healthcare facilities.

This design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2019 in the category of Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design.
